University of Georgia Sorority Moms and Dads joined together for Parents Weekend, a fun filled time for parents and daughters.
This sorority party took place on beautiful Herty Field. The site for the first intercollegiate football game played in Georgia, Herty Field now is known as a memorable setting for weddings, receptions, and sorority and fraternity parties. The cascading fountain on the far side of Herty Field was built with local granite from Elberton and makes the perfect backdrop for capturing lifelong memories.
For this sorority event, Oconee Events was brought on board by Trumps Catering to supply the tent, tables, chairs, linens and stage.
We choose a 40×85 foot framed tent with a drape on the north end to shield wind and possible light rain showers. The drape also screened the caterers work area from the guest area. The sturdy white tent has no center poles and offers plenty of room to accommodate 300 guests and plenty of 5′ round tables. We provided the round tables, chairs and linens. Rectangle tables were also provided to host the buffet and bar.
To add a touch of class, we hung two gorgeously rustic chandeliers and strung cafe lights along the tents edge.
No sorority party is complete without a band, and Oconee Events made certain a sturdy stage draped in classic black was at the center of it all. And you can’t have a band or lights without power, so we hauled in a large generator to keep the party going well into the night.
This sorority had the lovely idea to project photographs of their sorority sisters accumulated during the year. Rather than set up a projection screen, our large tent proved to be the perfect backdrop for the ongoing slideshow.
